The 66th Annual Installation Dinner and Awards Banquet was held on June 22nd at Sierra Lakes. I want to thank our banquet sponsors for helping make this year’s banquet a success.

Young Homes was the major sponsor and Burrtec Waste Industries was our corporate sponsor. San Manuel Mission Band of Indians sponsored all centerpieces for the banquet. Our entertainment sponsor was California Steel Industries, and Kaiser Permanente was our reception sponsor.

These companies are big supporters of many programs in Fontana and we extend a huge thank you to them, along with all table and silent auction sponsors for their generous contributions which helped make this another successful event.

We achieved many accomplishments this past year under the great leadership of Ken Galasso and our membership is now nearing 450 members. Thank you to Ken and the board for all your hard work and effort.

I want to thank Mayor Mark Nuaimi and the City Council for their continued support of the chamber. There have been many joint events throughout the year, and the council’s support for the chamber and local businesses is appreciated.

We already have many exciting events planned including the Racefest Golf Classic Tournament, Women’s Expo, and Mayor’s Townhall Business Luncheon. At our July planning meeting the board will outline our key goals for the year which will be reported to you in future articles.  

I look forward to representing the chamber as chairman this year. The City of Fontana is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, and there are many opportunities for the business community.

I want to thank the members of the Board of Directors for their commitment, dedication and vision for the chamber. I also want to thank all of our members for their involvement and continued support.

With all of your support, this will be a great year and I thank you for the opportunity to serve and lead the Chamber of Commerce.
