Fontana Area Chamber of Commerce Announces New Website

Fontana, Calif.    May 4, 2008

     The Fontana Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the implementation of their newly reengineered Chamber website. David Pulido, Chamber President and CEO, says “Though it is basically in the same design, it now contains the content we’ve envisioned for it and empowers the Chamber staff to maintain it themselves.”  “ We previously needed to go to our webmaster for all website content change that was not provided for in our chamber management solution because it was built three years ago using the web technologies of the time.”  says Pulido.

     The new website was reengineered into a Content Management Solution (CMS) that allows anyone with some computer aptitude to maintain the website including adding pages, text and graphics. Martin Walker, President of Wilshire Publicity, Inc. which hosts the Chamber’s website, says the Chamber uses the most flexible and sophisticated CMS he’s seen yet on the technology market.

     Besides the content management, the new CMS provides a sixty (60) percent reduction in the monthly web hosting expense. The savings must now be diverted to hiring a technician to maintain the site but those costs would be less than half the hourly cost of paying a webmaster. “Additionally it puts us in a position to be very responsive to the needs of the chamber and community in general and in meeting the strategic goals our Board of Directors has set for us.” says Pulido.

     Pulido stated that once the website was reengineered, they were able to apply six weeks of needed content maintenance over a single weekend. “The site looks great! I hope all of our members and staff will go and take a look and let us know what they think.” he said.
