The big Fontana NASCAR race weekend began with the Racefest Golf Classic Wednesday August 29th 2007 at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club.
The exciting play began with a shotgun start at 9:00 A.M. Breakfast, lunch and golf play were accompanied by a Silent Auction, Tournament Gift Bags, Great Raffle Prizes, a Hole in One Contest and many other events. The committee led by Jack Van Blarcom, Greg Christian, Ken Gallaso, Bob Harrington, Bill Wong, Sharon Fox, Bob Rossman, Bill Stevenson and Otis Greer worked for over six months on the successful project. The event helps support Best B.E.T. Business and Education together. Thanks again for your great efforts on a successful event.
The 9th Annual Inland Empire Women’s Conference is scheduled for Wednesday September 26th 2007 from 9 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. at Etiwanda Gardens. Committee Chairwoman Jan Stevens of the Inland Empire LMCC heads up a great team of professional women who are planning the event. Terrific speakers are planned. Please look for a separate article outlining more details in this publication. As I settle into the role of Chairman of the Board I realize how quickly the year is going by. August was a busy month. We welcomed the 20 new members from July to our Membership breakfast on August 9th, we held Ribbon Cuttings at Agape Coffee Shop and Bakery, Summit Optometric, Hector’s Bike shop, and a Grand Opening at CitiFinancial.
The Chamber Latino Network will host the 4th Annual Dinner/Dance at the Aurora’s Golden Moments in Riverside Friday October 12, 2007 at 6 P.M. at 1445 Spruce St. in Riverside. Look for additional articles on this great opportunity to bridge the various cultures in the Fontana Area Business Community. The evening will include a performance by the Sonora Karnaval. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the “Posadas Navidenas” program.
In closing, I thank you for allowing me to serve as your Chairman of the Board. I have a terrific Board of Directors which makes the role of Chairman a pleasure. And to our members, keep supporting our events. Our membership is at 450 and growing, a testament to our great area and the businesses who support the Chamber.
